The First New Nine Lashes Song In Over 2 Years…Is Also Blasting

Nine Lashes is back with a vengeance!   They have a new song Now Blasting called Guilty Hands.

With Guilty Hands, Nine Lashes wanted to go back to its core:  in sound and in message.

With heavy tones, soaring melodies, and purposeful lyrics, they’re coming out of hiding with a bang.

Guilty Hands is a plea. Stop bearing the weight of your guilt. Stop running. Stop fighting. Come home.

The song is based on Luke 15:20-24, which is the happy ending of the prodigal son story.

New Lacey Sturm And Skillet Songs Are Blastin’

It’s been 18 months since we’ve had new music to Blast from former Flyleaf lead singer Lacey Sturm.  And she comes out screamin’ on The Decree like she did on I’m So Sick.  Sturm co-wrote The Decree with Korey Cooper of Skillet.   Speaking of Skillet, we just added a new tune from them, too:  Never Going Back.   We were far ahead of the curve in adding their current hit Save Me, as their record companies let almost half a year slip by before releasing a second Christian Rock radio single (that one) just a few weeks ago.  Both of these new songs will air during the Colin Cruz Radio Show, which is on weekdays from Noon-3 pm USA/Canada/Mexico Central Time.

Disciple To Perform Love Letter Lockdown Live Online Show Tomorrow, Saturday May 9th!

Yes!  Colin Cruz has been talking about this on his show…we need bands to do online concerts during this time of lockdown…and Disciple is doing one during this pause of the Love Letter Kill Shot Tour…they are doing an online, live Love Letter Lockdown Concert!  That is a perfect name, and very clever!  You can get a basic ticket to view the show for $20 plus minimal fees. This electric, full production concert happens on Saturday May 9th from 6 to 9 pm Eastern Time.  They are also doing an acoustic online show tonight, Friday May 8th.  Buying online concert tickets and band merchandise is a great way to support your favorite bands while they can’t tour.   For more details, go to:

Capstone Music Festival 2020 Is Cancelled

Capstone is a Covid-casualty.   Yes, unfortunately, the Capstone Music Festival has been cancelled for 2020 due to Covid-19 shutdowns in Indiana lasting into next month.  The festival would have featured Amongst The Giants, Chaotic Resemblance, Gold Frankincense and Myrrh, Ignescent, Leper, Rusty Shipp and XL & DBD.

The festival also would have featured a number of bands played on The Implosion and The Blastozoic Era.  Organizers say they will put together a new festival next year.

There Is Now A Skillet Video Game

You know you’ve hit the big time as a rock band when they make a video game about you.

A generation ago, the mainstream band Journey had a video game named after them called “Journey Escape”, for play on the Atari 2600 video game system, released in 1982.

A number of other mainstream bands have had video games themed after them in the meantime.

And as we fast forward to 2020,  the band that is on the top of the heap of Christian rock bands has a video game of their own called  “Save Me”, themed with the band’s latest rock track and music video of the same name.

In the game, John, Korey, Jen and Seth are characters that fans can select and play as.

Once a character is selected, the characters run through a maze where players are meant to avoid various aspects seen in the “Save Me” music video: the hand (callout to John’s scene), water/poison (callout to Jen’s scene), and fire (callout to John’s scene/smoking hands burning his eyes), which will be floating around chasing them; similar to the ghosts in Pac Man.

Kingdom Come Festival 2020 Status Is Still Up In The Air

The Kingdom Come Festival 2020 will be an awesome fest…if it happens.  This growing, annual Indiana festival would feature a ton of great Blast bands, and some bands that we play on The Implosion and The Blast Blender.   But of course there’s that pesky coronavirus, Covid-19 that’s been wreaking havoc on concerts all over the world over the last couple of months.  The venue has a meeting on May 2nd that may decide the festival’s fate.  We’ll pass the word once we hear the news.
